Why We Exist

Empower Ed was born from countless school meetings, where experienced and dedicated educators  began to question the process and began to wonder:

  • Do parents really understand what’s happening, or are they just going through the motions, afraid to speak up?
  • Have the students we are discussing had the opportunity to put their voices in this process and advocate for their needs?
  • Do the educators feel supported with resources and learning opportunities to meet the needs of all diverse learners in their classrooms?
  • Is the educational system set up to really engage in a partnership with all stakeholders to improve student outcomes?
  • How can we create a system where all have a voice and all have access?

Empower Ed was founded to bridge this gap. We believe that all parents and families deserve to understand their student’s education and have a voice in their learning journey. All educators are dedicated to student learning and deserve the resources to meet this challenge. All students are capable of learning and deserve a choice in their learning experience. By providing accessible support and guidance, we empower families to advocate effectively for their children, educators to meet the challenge of teaching diverse learners, students to actively participate in their education, and communities to support systemic change that will positively impact their neighborhoods.
